Cauliflower Crusted Pizza
Spread pizza sauce on top of crust. You can back a little longer if necessary.
Ingredients
For the crust
- 1 head cauliflower cored and chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic salt we used Toomey's seasoning
For the topping
- Fresh pizza sauce with roasted tomatoes
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- Italian seasoning to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- Any pizza toppings you like salami, olives, onions, green peppers, fresh basil, artichoke hearts, chicken, spinach, roasted red peppers, pineapple, ham, etc.
Instructions
Crust
- Heat oven to 400 degrees. Wash and chop cauliflower in food processor until it resembles rice.
- Heat in microwave for 2 minutes. Squeeze out excess water in towel or cheesecloth.
- Mix cooked cauliflower, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning together in a bowl.
- Spread on parchment papered cookie sheet (or stone) or pizza pan until thin. Bake 7 minutes.
Topping
- Spread pizza sauce on top of crust. See Fresh Pizza Sauce with Roasted Tomatoes recipe
- Add toppings, mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top of sauce.
- Sprinkle more Italian seasoning. Bake 10 minutes more until cheese melts and is light brown.
